How to properly store construction machine

Construction machinery operator should know how to properly store construction machine. In particular, many construction machinery will not be used again for a long time, or after a project finish, they need to be stored for a long time. Then, it become an important question how to properly store construction machine and not to affect future use. Now,we list some suggestions as below:

1 Construction machine should be parked in dry room. In case they are stored outside, should choose the flat ground and put wood on the ground, then covered with cloths. 

2 Before long-term storage, it should maintenance, repair damaged parts,and thoroughly clean to keep machine in good technical condition. 

3 Arrangement and layout in parking space should ensure that there is no affection from other machines.

4 Fuel control lever should be placed in the idle position and each lever is in neutral position. 

5 Engine keeping: 

Discharge cooling water in the engine. Replace the engine oil. The new oil is usually neutral and will not corrode metal parts. Fill diesel fuel tank to prevent the fuel tank from rusting. If condition permit, add antiseptic.

During engine shutdown, initiate once a month and make short distance travel, so that all of parts are lubricated at the establishment of a new film and prevent rust. Note: before starting, fill with cooling water and then exhaust cooling water. 

6 Battery custody:

Remove the battery, place in dry and anti-frost place. To keep the surface clean and dry, conductive object is prohibited on the battery. When dismantling battery, firstly, shut off the negative cable and then positive cable. When installation, connect the positive cable first, then connect the negative cable. Because mechanical engineering electrical system is negative ground strap connection, which is to avoid short circuit when dis-assembly. 

Lead-acid battery should be charged once a month. 

7 Anti-rust treatment:

Before storage, consider if it needs re-painting according to size of surface paint-off. 

Construction machinery working device, such as the paver screed, bucket, grader blade loader, etc, put butter at bare metal.
